Therapist

Arrow Child & Family Ministries is seeking a Therapist for our specialized foster care program dedicated to children whose behaviors have caused them several disrupted foster home placements and/or psychiatric hospitalizations. Selected therapists for this particular program will be responsible for the design and implementation of therapeutic treatment for children and their foster families. This includes, but is not limited to, establishing treatment plans, monitoring progress, consulting with other treatment team members and referring entities, conducting clinical groups, providing crisis intervention as needed, and ensuring that foster parents maintain compliance with all regulatory standards. The position is also responsible for integrating Arrow Child & Family Ministries' approaches into all aspects of the treatment strategies.

Qualifications

Education, Licensure and/or Experience

Must be licensed to provide therapy in the State, including full or provisional licensure status. Possess a Master's Degree in a human services field including nine credits in graduate level courses that focus on family and individual therapy.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the ministry.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional variables.

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver's license, appropriate insurance and reliable car.
  • Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must submit to pass random drug tests during employment.
  • Must successfully pass all background screens as required by the state.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may have occasional contact with cleaning solvents, aromatics and nuisance dusts. Some locations may require PCM (Professional Crisis Management) Training.

Other physical requirements specific to this job: Occasionally required to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Occasionally required to push/pull up to 50 lbs. Occasionally required to climb stairs Occasionally required to bend, stoop, crouch or required to stand from a kneeling position, with both knees down, 5 times in one minute
